Delete your Oremi account

You can delete your Oremi account and its data at any time. There are two ways to do it, both are permanent.

Withdraw your money first

Deleting your account destroys the wallet. Any Naira, Rand or crypto still in it will be lost and cannot be recovered by Oremi or by anyone else. Move your funds out before you delete.

Option 1, delete it yourself in chat

Open your Oremi chat on WhatsApp or Telegram
Send settings
Tap Delete wallet
Confirm with your 4-digit PIN

This takes effect immediately.

Option 2, ask us to delete it

If you can no longer access your chat, email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the phone number or @username you signed up with. We verify ownership before deleting anything, and we complete verified requests within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Your profile, name, username, email, phone number, profile picture
Your wallet and its encrypted recovery phrase
Your saved bank accounts and beneficiaries
Your savings circle (Ajo) memberships
Your eSIM purchase records
Your support conversations and in-app messages

What we keep, and why

We retain records of completed transactions, amounts, dates and references, for as long as applicable Nigerian financial and anti-money-laundering law requires, even after your account is deleted. These records are detached from your profile and are not used for anything else.

Transactions already written to a public blockchain cannot be deleted by anyone, including us, that is how those networks work.
